I caught the tail end of this in the blink of an eye a few weeks ago, and almost fell out of my chair (I actually fell over the table, but that is another story)... someone (Richard Goldgewicht) finally got the bright idea to make a documentary on the master of title sequences that we all know and love, Pablo Ferro.
Pablo was the master of the quick cut well before many in the states where doing it, and also the designer of many classic title sequences like...
Dr. Strangelove or: How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Bomb
The Thomas Crown Affair
To Die For
Napoleon Dynamite
A Clockwork Orange (and a railer too)
Napoleon Dynamite
Psycho
Men in Black
Bullitt
The Man With The Golden Arm
and many many more... have look here.
Needless to say, Master Pablo, is nothing less then iconic, even though most filmgoers have never heard his name. This documentary will hopefully change that.
